Scoutrees (May 3)

You should have received an envelope for Scoutrees fundraising this past week.
Scoutrees is a program that has been running more than 40 years.
"Scouting members plant trees in conservation areas, provincial parks, on crown-lands, and at Scout Camps. Through Scoutrees the youth learn the important role trees play in helping the environment."
More info can be found here - http://www.scouts.ca/ca/scoutrees

Tree planting will take place on May 3.
(We'll share the details of where and when as soon as we can)

This year we are collecting sponsorships to help fund equipment purchases for camps.
15% of the funds collected are given to the Brotherhood Fund for use in World Scouting's Community Development Program (http://www.angelfire.com/nf/Scouts/Brother.html).
85% of the funds collected remain with 63rd Ottawa.
Our goal this year is for each family to raise $35.

Some statements for your Beaver to use when canvassing:
"Will you help support planting trees for Scouts Canada?"
"Will you help support our group buying new tents so we can go camping?"
"Will you help support World Scouting's community development work?"
